I beg to differ.
The only reason I choose today
Is because of a God who believes in me (even when I don’t believe in myself).
The only reason I found crazy-joy
Is because He’s relentless in telling me I’m loved and worthy and enough.
I’d be lying to you if I boasted of my own strength, or hope, or personality.
Or family. Or doctors. Or friends.
Moral support, prescriptions, coffee-shop conversations – they help, yeah.
But they don’t heal.
The only reason I choose every day
Is because I believe in an eternity-long Redemption;
And my story is just one of the paragraphs among millions.
